Home and Beauty buyer

I worked in retail for 16-17 years! I have worked in boutique shops and corporate owned retail. I always moved up quickly in these jobs because I worked hard and loved what I did. I am a creative person by nature so when it came to merchandising it came so easy for me. As I started getting further into my career I realized that not everybody had the skill set to merchandise. In interviews I would always lead with my amazing merchandising skill set and how it would be a great attribution to their business. Later I learned that not all companies realized the value of an amazing merchandised store and the actual value I brought to the store until after I left and things started to slowly fall apart.
It’s been a year and a half since I have worked in a brick and mortar but every time I enter a store I am aniline’s they’re merchandising and how the store looks as a whole. I guess you can never take the retail out of a girl!
I now work as a home and beauty buyer for Cupcakes and Cashmere. After the last corporate job at Brixton I am happy to be working with a small company who has amazing values and support there employees.
